About the line
Mattel revealed the license pickup at San Diego Comic-Con 2015. The figures launched at SDCC 2016 with the WilyKit and WilyKat 2-pack, then ran through Club Third Earth from September to December 2016. Subscribers also received Mumm-Ra as a sub-exclusive bonus figure.
Sculpted by the Four Horsemen and built on the Masters of the Universe Classics buck, the line stood roughly 6 inches tall and included swappable hands, weapons, and a small number of armor or cloak swaps per figure.
The Four Horsemen also produced presentation prototypes of Lion-O and Jackalman that were shown ahead of the line's announcement. Tygra and Cheetara were widely expected but never made it past concept before MattyCollector wound down at the end of 2016, taking Club Third Earth with it. Panthro was the final figure shipped.
